The Walmart Credit Card can be used to make payments at all Walmart stores and elsewhere. It is just like any other credit card you may get from a bank or other lender. If you have applied for the card and your credit rating is good, there is no reason why you shouldn’t get one.
If you have received a new Walmart Credit Card, it is highly likely that you are getting one for the first time. It is also possible that the card you received is an upgraded version of your old card. Where that is the case, then the new card should replace the old one, literally.
Of course, your account number remains the case. With the new card, you can still make transactions using your old account number. You can make payments for goods and services with your new card. But that wouldn’t be possible without going through the Walmart Credit Card activation process.

Activate Your Walmart Credit Card by Phone
It is also possible to activate your card by calling 1-877-362-5952, which is a toll-free number. Once your call gets connected, press “1” which is the option for general card inquiries. You will be asked to input the card number ending with “#”.
The sales representative will ask you to state your name, telephone number, and social security number. They will go through a process that involves the verification of your identity after which your account should be activated.

It doesn’t really matter if you activated your card by phone or online. Having the mobile app through which you can do online transactions is important. If anything, paying bills, reviewing previous transactions, and managing the account is easier using the mobile app.
Also, take note of the fact that failure to activate your Walmart Credit Card will mean the card is rendered useless in just 3 to 5 months. That will mean you reapply for it.
If you received the new Walmart Credit Card as a replacement for an old one, make sure you get rid of your previous card. After that, you can sign at the back of your new card and use it to make transactions. If you don’t destroy your old card, some crafty individual may grab it and defraud you.
